Player Development

Player Progression Development Model (P.P.D.M.)

Each age requires a different approach to training and development. The Player Progression Development Model was built by USA Football to ensure that players get the best and most appropriate training for their age. The complete system guides coaches, players and parents with age based courses, drill libraries and techniques, all designed to make a better, safer game. The PPDM is being reviewed for general release, and will be available on April 2011 for teams and coaches affiliated to USA Football, The Brennan Jr. Bears will follow this model in all pertinent divisions (our age limit is U12). The model defines six age groups (U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) divided in three major areas (Introduction for U6-U8, Foundation for U10-U12, and refinement for U14-U16) and 11 components age group specific that make up a complete development plan.
